From illustrious Rioja stalwart, Ramon Bilbao, comes the premium cuvée, Mirto. It is a sleek and modern expression of Tempranillo from selected old vines in Haro, Villaba and San Vicente, aged in French oak barriques for 28 months. On the nose it exudes delightfully purity of dark cherry and cassis fruit, with subtle undertones of spices and graphite minerality. With a good amount of bottle age, the tannins are almost completely resolved and intriguing secondary flavours are emerging, making this a sumptuous and smooth red ideal for drinking alongside slow-braised meat dishes.
