Domaine Michelot is a well-known and highly respected wine producer located in the village of Meursault. With a history dating back to the early 20th century, the estate is currently managed by the sixth generation of the Michelot family. Michelot owns around 19 hectares of vineyards, with a significant portion dedicated to Premier Cru vineyards. ‘Les Grands Charrons` comes from a parcel of old vines in high altitude vineyards. These wines tend to be crisp, linear and well-structured, peppered with mineral notes and sea salt.

Domaine Michelot

Domaine Michelot has been owned and operated by the Michelot family for six generations and now comprises more than 19 hectares, including a number of notable Premier Crus in Meursault. The domaine is primarily recognised for the quality of their Chardonnays, which see a 6 - 12 hour cold pre-soak before fermentation, including malolactic. The finished wines are aged for 10 - 12 months in oak barrels, with around 15% being new oak, before they are blended in tank and rested for a further 5 - 6 months.

The village level wines are excellent, with an approachable ripeness, but it's the Premier Cru wines that truly show off the quality of the winemaking. The team producer four wines from argaubly Meursault's greatest hillside vineyards - Poruzot, Charmes, Genevrières and Perrières.
