The Maximin Grünhaus estate dates back to the 7th Century and is based in the Ruwer Valley, a tiny tributary that joins the Mosel that is often noted for its slightly cooler conditions. This is a serious Spatlese that exudes rich tropical fruits, melon, guava and honey followed by ripe baked apple and pear and a classic stoney slate finish.
