In 1970, Luis Cañas made a groundbreaking decision, diverging from two centuries of tradition by becoming the first winemaker in Rioja Alavesa to bottle his own wine instead of selling it in bulk. This courageous step, coupled with his ongoing spirit of innovation, has firmly established the winery`s reputation as one of the most forward-thinking in the region. This `Reserva` hails from the 1994 vintage, a legendary year for Spain. Despite a modest harvest, the year proved exceptional, yielding wines that were rich and ripe, displaying remarkable colour and depth.
