Château l’Hospitalet is Gérard Bertrand’s premier estate in AOP La Clape and L’Hospitalitas is the flagship Syrah and Mourvèdre blend from a 3-hectare plot at the heart of its vineyards. It is intense purple-red in colour with an opulent nose of ripe black fruits, violets, cedar, pink peppercorns, cocoa and graphite. On the palate it has wonderful breadth and power, with wonderfully refined tannins and cool mineral tension throughout. This is a full-bodied, rich style of wine best served with red meat or roasted poultry.
