Latour 300cl 2005

HED89266 300cl 13%
Made from 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2005 Château Latour initially presents a delicate profile. However, with a few hours, both the tannins and the fruit become more pronounced, transforming it into a medium-full-bodied wine. The palate reveals black fruit notes, and the finish is marked by earthy nuances. The extended finish suggests a wine with considerable ageing potential, indicating a very long and promising life ahead.
The 2005 Latour is a huge wine predestined for long-term aging. Noticeably deep in color, it has a showstopping bouquet with intense black fruit, graphite and touches of dried blood and tobacco as it considers moving into its secondary phase. But that`s going to be slow coming...it`s in no hurry. The palate is medium-bodied and unapologetically classic in style. I notice this bottle is a little grainy in texture, the salinity perhaps heightened as it enters adulthood. The finish has a tangible sense of tension, but it remains backward and swarthy. Immense. Chateau Latour

Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.

The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
