The 1994 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage showcases a stunning bouquet of mature Hermitage. It offers an intense interplay of pepper, gamey notes, and floral aromas beautifully entwined with black fruits. While retaining a core of fresh and primary black fruit, this wine also exhibits the classic, mature Chave complexity. It is currently at the zenith of its development, perfectly poised in its peak drinking window.
- Deep red-ruby. Roasted aromas of animal fur, blackcurrant, smoke and pepper. Supple, peppery and very concentrated, with lovely sweetness and pliant texture in the middle palate. Has a compellingly sapid quality. Finishes very long and sweet, with thoroughly ripe tannins. Absolutely delicious Hermitage, and showing no signs of shutting down in bottle.
