Located in Graves, Pessac-Léognan, Château Haut-Brion was awarded First Growth status in the 1855 Classification of Bordeaux and is undoubtedly amongst the very finest producers in Bordeaux, if not the world. From the utterly sublime 2005 vintage, this is composed of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. It is incredibly complex on the nose, offering up a sumptuous bouquet of cassis, black cherry, mulberry, cigar smoke, crushed stones, violets and earth. On the palate it is impeccably balanced, seamless and remarkably elegant, with a finish of quite extraordinary length and complexity. A sensational release with at least another 20 years of potential longevity.
