Shafer`s supreb 100% Chardonnay. Whole-cluster pressed and fermented with wild yeast in individual barrels (40% oak, 60% stainless steel); 0% malolactic fermentation. The wine spends nine months in 40% new French oak barrels (Allier, Vosges) and 60% in stainless steel barrels.
"The 2023 is true to the outstanding vintage with brilliant, elegant aromas and flavors of citrus peel, honeycomb, white flowers, apricot, pineapple, and warm river stone all held together with effortless structure, lithe balance, and brightness that comes from pitch-perfect acidity." - Shafer winemaker Elias Fernandez
TD-9 is a rich, vibrant expression of a collection of prime Napa Valley vineyards. The name of this Cabernet Sauvignon celebrates John Shafer’s first tractor, a TD-9 International Harvester, which he inherited with the purchase of the Shafer property and taught himself to drive in 1973 as part of the founding of the winery.
"2022 TD-9 fills the glass with aromas and flavors of ripe red plum, lush violet, red and black cherry, rhubarb, and graphite. Balancing opulence and vibrancy, the wine offers vivid tension, and is completed by bright acidity and on-point tannins. This vintage will offer evolving and ever more delicate enjoyment with time." - Shafer winemaker Elias Fernandez
