Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is unquestionably one of the most prestigious wine producers in the world. Unlike other great Burgundy estates, DRC’s strategy has always been to focus on just a small number of grand cru vineyards, such as Grands-Echézeaux, where they own a 3.52-hectare plot. This particular release is from the 2008 vintage, and it’s available here in this eye-catching magnum bottle. Expect a haunting nose of sour cherries, game and spices. On the palate, the wine is light and elegant, almost weightless, leading to a perfumed long finish.
