Raspail Ay is a highly acclaimed, traditional estate in Gigondas. Dominique Ay, the current owner, now collaborates with his son Christophe and daughter Anne-Sophie. The estate encompasses 18 hectares of vineyards strategically positioned around their family house. With an average age of 40 years, the vines consist of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre. Following the challenging frosts of 1998, a consistent summer unfolded, characterized by warm and dry weather. These conditions prevented grape rot, ensuring full phenolic ripeness. The resultant wines are intense, structured, and tannic, poised for a prolonged ageing journey.
