Founded in 1947, Domaine Brusset is a family owned and operated estate based in Cairanne but produces wines from all across the wider southern Rhône region. Les Hauts de Montmirail is a superb blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah from the terraced vineyards of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The 2017 is full-bodied and plush, boasting notes of creamy black cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate, violets and wild herbs. Powerful yet restrained, it is velvety and elegant on the palate, with a wonderfully long, fruit-laden finish. An excellent release with at least a decade of potential longevity.
