Based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, the family-owned Domaine Fourrier is currently managed by the prolific winemaker Jean-Marie Fourrier. Before taking over from his father in 1994, Jean-Marie worked as an apprentice for both Henry Jayer and Véronique Drouhin at Domaine Drouhin in Oregon. This release comes from Les Champeaux, a Premier Cru site where Fourrier owns a tiny 0.21-hectare plot of very old vines. The wine is fresh and full of energy, boasting notes of ripe cherries, nutmeg, dry herbs and earthy nuances.
