Bodegas Garzón is a renowned, award-winning winery located in the Maldonado region of Uruguay. Balasto is one of their premium wines, a red blend that exemplifies the best of Uruguayan wine production. The name ‘Balasto’ refers to the mineral-rich, well-draining soils in which the vineyards are planted. The 2016 vintage is a blend of Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Marselan grapes. These varieties are carefully selected and harvested from the estate`s best parcels to create a wine that is both powerful and elegant. The 2016 vintage was characterized by a mild summer with balanced temperatures, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and develop intense flavours and aromas.
