Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve 2005 is a full-bodied red wine produced from organically farmed Sangiovese grapes on the Fontodi estate in Panzano, in the Chianti region of Tuscany. Certified organic in the vineyards and combining modern and traditional, low-intervention winemaking techniques in their modern, gravity-fed cellar, Fontodi has become a byword for consistent quality and terroir expression in Chianti Classico. "The 2005 Flaccianello della Pieve is impressive. It boasts striking inner perfume and sweetness to match its considerable sexiness. Today the wine is firing on all cylinders. The 2005 can be enjoyed today, but also has more than enough structure and acidity to develop nicely for a number of years. Floral notes add lift and brightness on the feminine finish.
