An exotic, kaleidoscopic bouquet of dark fruit preserves, incense, Indian spices and fresh flowers, with cola and mocha nuances gaining power as the wine opens with air. Stains the palate with sweet blackberry and mulberry flavors that are lifted by juicy acidity and a hint of smoky minerals. Decidedly modern in style and surprisingly approachable, as the wine's round tannins are quickly sucked up by its abundant, deeply concentrated fruit. Doesn't let up on the finish, where the berry and floral notes echo strongly. These vines are rapidly approaching their 100th birthday.
