Château Duhart Milon 2010 is a full-bodied, Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. Situated in the heart of Pauillac, Château Duhart-Milon is a perfect representative of its appellation. This Fourth Growth estate was founded in the 18th century under the leadership of the Lafite family, who covered Pauillac with vines at that time. On the 2010 vintage. "Gravel over limestone, similar to Château Lafite Rothschild and under the same ownership. Cooler northern exposure of the terroir requires more time to ripen, but that was no problem in 2010. This has ripe fruit with graphite and wet stone. It may not be as dense as Clerc Milon, but the expression of finesse and refinement is unmistakable. Long, subtle finish. Pleasing, high-toned fruit perfectly matches grilled lamb chops with roast potatoes." Decanter, 2021
The 2010 Duhart-Milon has an intense but tightly coiled nose of black fruit laced with cedar and mint. I would have liked to see a little more precision. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and very well judged acidity. There is an appealing sense of symmetry here with fine precision and tension on the finish. Excellent. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the BI Wines & Spirits 10-Year On tasting. - Neil Martin
