Cullen Kevin John Chardonnay 2021 is a full-bodied white wine produced from Chardonnay grapes in the Margaret River region of Australia. Cullen Wines is a certified biodynamic, carbon neutral and naturally powered estate, with their philosophy summed up in three simple words; ‘Quality, Integrity and Sustainability’. One of the oldest and most awarded family wineries in Wilyabrup, located in Western Australia’s famous Margaret River region. "This is excellent, in short. The detail in the winemaking is obvious in the mouth – the acidity has been mitigated by the malolactic fermentation and is the source of the crushed nuts and toast undercurrent of flavour and intensity in the mouth. It billows, but it is also more `on the rails` than some of the previous, warmer vintages. This is very contained, yet true to the fruit power that defines the site." Wine Advocate, 2022
The 2021 Chardonnay Kevin John is exceptional from start to finish. It is a beautifully pure and pristine expression of young Chardonnay that also carries excellent generosity of flavour. Precise grapefruit, pear, ginger and high quality spicy oak aromas provide a strong introduction. Energetic and vivacious, there is a delicious tension between crisp acidity and lively, youthful fruits, all beautifully balanced, before a long, chalky, zesty finish with extreme length. A benchmark Margaret River Chardonnay.
