Ogier is a well-established winery in the Côte-Rôtie appellation of the Northern Rhône. They have a history of producing high-quality wines from Syrah, which are often co-fermented with a small percentage of Viognier in the traditional Côte-Rôtie style. The 1971 vintage in the Northern Rhône was generally good, producing wines with finesse and balance. Given its age, this release would pair well with a range of dishes, including roasted or braised meats, game and mushroom risotto. As with other older wines, decanting is recommended to allow the wine to open up and reveal its full potential.
