Currently owned by the French holding company Groupe Artemis, Clos de Tart was originally founded by the Cistercian nuns of Tart Abbey in 1141. The 7.53-hectare estate is wholly owned by Domaine Clos de Tart and therefore classified as a ‘monopole’. The 1999 vintage is a Burgundy of great stature and depth, boasting dark cherry fruit, black truffles, spices and a touch of strawberries.
