The Vallepicciola estate spans 107ha and is nestled in the rolling hills of Chianti Classico, 10 minutes from the city of Siena. The estate`s Chianti Classico 2021 is produced from estate-grown Sangiovese grapes growing on marl and Alberese (limestone) soil. The wine is fermented then aged in large oak barrels for 10 months, before a further 6-8 months in second use barriques. Followed by a further 3-5 months in bottle before release.

Except classic ripe cherry and blackberry fruit and plum notes, with spicy and floral hints. Refreshing yet with good structure and soft, refined tannins.

Vallepicciola

Founded in the mid-1990s, Vallepicciola is nestled in the rolling hills of Chianti Classico, around 10 minutes from Siena, and manage around 107 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Tuscany. The oenology team is headed up jointly by Allessando Cellai and Erasmo Mazzone and production sits at just over 500,000 bottles per year.

When it comes to grapes, plantings have a distinctly international leaning, plantings of the Tuscan stable Sangiovese are joined by Pinot Nero, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay. Sustainable agriculture is a key concern for the team at Vallepicciola and the estate includes generous plantings of olive groves, wooded areas, a lake and wild flower fields to improve biodiversity.
