Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2009 is a full-bodied blended red wine from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the southern Rhône Valley. Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is a name synonymous with fine, age-worthy Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which has owned and run by the Brunier family for more than a century. The flagship Vieux Télégraph Châteauneuf-du-Pape cuvée is a blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault plus other local grape varieties, all from vineyards aged 65 years or more. "A deep ruby/plum colour is followed by a big, sweet nose of boysenberries, raspberries, licoricey, nori seaweed wrap, black currants and earth. Full-bodied, with beautiful texture, purity, depth and power, the 2009 is a notch behind the extraordinary 2007, but it is unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage. It should drink well for 20+ years." Robert Parker, 2010
- (65% grenache, 15% each of mourvedre and syrah, and the rest all the other varieties; aged in a combination of foudres and concrete): Bright ruby. Intense red fruit and potpourri aromas show excellent precision and a suave, spicy character. Licorice and lavender nuances add complexity to juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, with the wine putting on weight in the glass. Finishes taut and youthfully tangy, with echoing licorice and spice notes.

Vieux Telegraphe

Perched on the famed La Crau plateau, Vieux Télégraphe has been a pillar of excellence in Châteauneuf-du-Pape for over a century. The estate’s vineyards, planted with old vines that thrive in the region’s stony soils, produce wines that are both powerful and elegant. Under the stewardship of the Brunier family, Vieux Télégraphe has maintained a commitment to traditional winemaking, allowing the terroir to shine through in every vintage.

The estate’s wines, particularly the iconic La Crau, are celebrated for their complexity, structure, and ability to age gracefully over decades. Whether you’re enjoying a young vintage or one with years of bottle age, Vieux Télégraphe’s wines offer a profound expression of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s storied terroir.
