Le Clos du Caillou is a southern Rhône wine estate that has risen to prominence in the last 5 years and whose organic wines are now keenly sought-after. The 1999 Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Réserve is gorgeously concentrated, with a perfect balance of rich Grenache fruitiness and Mourvèdre`s tannic backbone. Plenty of black plums, black pepper, blackberries and olive and some bittersweet chocolate on the finish.
