Chateau Mercian Iwasaki Koshu 2021 is a medium-bodied, barrel-fermented white wine produced from Koshu grapes in the Yamanashi Prefecture of Japan. indigenous Koshu grape variety. Founded in 1870, Château Mercian is the oldest winery in Japan and one of the leading producers of Koshu in the country. A versatile `gris` grape variety known for producing delicate, aromatic wines, Koshu was first identified in Yamanashi Province as long ago as 1186. This 2021 wine displays aromas of yuzu and white flowers, with notes of vanilla, almonds and hazelnuts following through on the palate.
