Domaine Joseph Roty was established in the 1960’s, with a reputation for powerful and long-lived wines, the estate has one of the largest concentration of old vines in Burgundy averaging 65 years old. The 2005 Charmes-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes emanates intense aromas of blackberries, cassis, and hints of tobacco. The palate is robust, with firm tannins, concentrated dark fruit, and a pronounced mineral streak. This wine is still youthful, with significant ageing potential ahead.
