Considered a benchmark for high-quality Napa Cabernet, Chappellet is a family-owned winery located in the Pritchard Hill AVA of the Napa Valley. Since its foundation in 1967, Chappellet has played a key role in transforming this site on the rocky eastern slopes of the valley into one of the most revered winegrowing sites on America`s west coast. The 1974 Chappellet Cabernet included 10% Merlot in the blend. "The 1974 Chappellet Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is pale brick in colour and hits the dance floor with a gregarious baked cherries, dark chocolate and Ceylon tea nose with touches of allspice, Sichuan pepper and dusty earth. The palate is medium to full-bodied and packed with rich, decadent fruit, supported by ripe, plush tannins and finishing very long with the spice layers coming through." Wine Advocate, 2018
