Since its foundation in 1967, Chappellet has played a key role in transforming this site on the rocky eastern slopes of the valley into one of the most revered winegrowing sites on America`s west coast. "The 1973 Chappellet Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is pale brick in colour and explodes from the glass with a powerful perfume of potpourri, liquorice, oolong tea and kirsch with touches of molten rocks, hoisin and unsmoked cigars plus a touch of cloves. Medium-bodied with a taut frame of grainy tannins and seamless freshness, it gives layer upon layer of savoury, spice and fruits notes, finishing very long and incredibly perfumed."
