Cédric Bouchard’s Presle Roses de Jeanne 2019 is a vintage blanc de noirs from a blend of various massal selections of Pinot Noir, cultivated in a high-density vineyard on a W/NW-facing slope beside the Ource river. Disgorged in April 2023, this non-dosé Champagne showcases a delicate texture alongside subtle bitter notes.
The 2019 Blanc de Noirs Presle is wonderfully precise and lifted in this vintage. Sourced from a mere 15 rows of vines planted in 2007 on clay-limestone soil, it is airy and ethereal, with a gorgeous aromatic presence. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint and white pepper build into the intensely saline finish. This is very pretty but a bit light in texture and overall structure. Bottled with no dosage. Disgorged: 2023.
