Cédric Bouchard La Bolorée Roses de Jeanne 2019 is a vintage Champagne crafted from a unique terroir located between Celles-sur-Ource and Landreville. This wine is produced from an ancient strain of Pinot Noir, benefiting from the region`s distinctive Portlandian limestone bedrock, which is less common than Kimmeridgian limestone found elsewhere in Champagne. The vineyard has been meticulously tended since its establishment in 1960, and Bouchard acquired additional land from this plot in 2024. The wine displays herbal and mineral notes with a structured, savoury finish, reflecting its origin. It is a non-dosé offering, with remarkable complexity.
The 2019 Blanc de Blancs La Bolorée is bright, precise and sculpted. Displaying notes of crushed rock, mint, white pepper and white flowers, the 2019 shows crystalline purity and notable focus from start to finish. La Bolorée usually needs a few years in bottle to be at its most expressive. I expect that will be the case here as well. Bottled with no dosage. Disgorged: 2023.
