In 1972, Caymus Vineyards was founded by Chuck Wagner, along with his late parents, Lorna and Charlie Sr. They began their journey with a modest production of 240 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon. Fast forward to the present day, Caymus Vineyards continues to be a fully family-owned and operated venture, with the next generation now leading the charge in managing and crafting exceptional wines. blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, layered with hints of vanilla, tobacco, and baking spice. The palate is supple and expressive, revealing notes of plum, cocoa, and anise, carried by well-integrated tannins. A lingering finish highlights its depth and elegance, reflecting both the vintage’s character and Caymus’s signature opulence.
- Deep ruby-red. Cassis, peat, licorice, menthol and a whiff of green pepper on the nose. A juicy wine with good texture and extract, but not yet showing a lot of flavor development or personality. Finishes with firm, slightly dry tannins and licorice and herbal notes.
