Distilled in 2001, this limited-edition Islay single malt was matured for two decades in a single ex-Sherry hogshead and bottled at a cask strength of 46%. Expect notes of dried fruit, nuts and caramel alongside the trademark oily, maritime character of Bunnahabhain single malt.

Bunnahabhain

Often known as the "gateway malt" for those looking to explore the smoky malts of Islay, Bunnahabhain is more lightly peated than most other whiskies produced on the island. Situated on the north-eastern coast, the distillery name means "mouth of the river" in Gaelic.

Historically noted for a waxy, oily mouthfeel, low peat levels and a hint of sea spray, Bunnahabhain have since experimented with more heavily peated drams, in-keeping with the style of their island neighbours. The youngest age statement in the core range is 12 years old while limited edition cask finishes have won the distillery awards globally.
