Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016 is a medium-to-full-bodied Sangiovese from the Brunello di Montalcino appellation of Tuscany. The vineyards of Poggio Antico rest on the highest hills of Montalcino, with the vineyard area spanning 35 hectares. This is a classic Brunello made with 100% Sangiovese that undergoes long aging in barrel and bottle. "There’s a real purity of Sangiovese fruit here with cherries, orange peel and sandalwood. It’s full-bodied yet so tight and refined as well as structured. Fine tannins lead you down deep into the palate which opens up at the end. Fascinating. Drink in 2024 and onwards."
