Brunello di Montalcino Fuligni 2006 is a wine characterised by its balance of tradition and subtle modernity. Crafted by Fuligni, a historic estate founded in the 19th century, this vintage reveals a complex profile of red cherries and earthy undertones, with a delicate structure supported by well-integrated tannins. It spent 27 days on the skins, allowing for a nuanced extraction. Only 25% of French oak was used, enhancing the fruit’s purity without overshadowing its character.
The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino from Fuligni was a littler juicier, richer and rounder than the Costanti. Few producers do a better job of bridging modern and traditional styles than Fuligni. What a beautiful wine.
