The 2000 Château Batailley is rather wonderful at present. Beautifully balanced, with great depth of fruit, flavour and character. The nose reveals red cherry aromas, as well as black pepper, cloves and herbs. On the palate, the wine is full of elegance, with dark and red berries, minerality, herbs and coffee. Perfect to drink now but the wine has at least another 5 years to be enjoyed at its best.
