Château de Pibarnon is one of the finest producers in the Bandol region of south-eastern France. This is their entry level offering produced from a blend of 90% Mourvedre and 10% Grenache sourced from a remarkable amphitheatre shaped vineyard. The 2016 is a wonderful release full of sumptuous dark fruits and deep savoury complexity. It is full-bodied, dense and plush, with a fine set of perfectly ripe, spicy and chewy tannins, suggesting a short spell in the cellar may be advisable.
