Finca Allende Aurus 2001 is a mature, medium-to-full-bodied red wine produced in the Rioja region of Spain. Renowned as a producer of fine, ageworthy Riojas made in a modern, fruit-forward style, Finca Allende was established by brother and sister team Mercedes and Miguel Angel de Gregorio in the Rioja Alta town of Briones. The Tempranillo-dominant Aurus cuvée is made from their oldest Tempranillo and Graciano vines and is matured in new French oak. "The 2001 Aurus is not quite as loaded as the 2004 and 2005 but is a complete wine with no rough edges. Fast becoming approachable, it should be at its best from 2012 to 2026.
