Anselmo Mendes Parcela Unica Alvarinho 2021 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard white wine from the Vinho Verde appellation of Portugal. Anselmo Mendes is one of the most influential winemakers in Portugal whose name is synonymous with the Alvarinho grape variety. His Parcela Unica Alvarinho is fermented in 400l French oak barrels and aged in the same barrels for nine months with bâtonnage on the full lees. The wine is then rested in bottle for a further 12 months before release. Producer note. "Complex and austere nose. Hints of wild flowers and hay along with a delicate minerality remembering wet stone. Some hazelnut and vanilla coming from the oak fermentation and aging. On the palate are refreshing acidity and verticality. A touch of smoke ending long and elegant."
