The 2020 Château Angludet is the product of a crop that suffered frost damage earlier in the season with a reduced percentage of Merlot. It has a lovely nose, maybe not quite as "brisk" as I described out of barrel, yet harmonious with those appealing black fruit laced with iris flower and violet. The palate is medium-bodied, the 30% aging in amphora imparting the spiciness, the liberal dose of black pepper towards the still gritty finish. Lovely length, lovely Margaux, lovely d`Angludet. - Neil Martin
With a history dating back several centuries, Château Angludet has established itself as one of the leading properties in Bordeaux. Its origins can be traced back to the 12th century when it served as a defence stronghold. Over the years, it transformed into an agricultural estate and eventually found its true calling as a vineyard in the 18th century. The 2020 vintage is a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot. While still in its early stages of development, the wine showcases immense potential and hints at the greatness that lies ahead. Available here in half-bottles.
