Arnaud Ente Meursault Petits Charrons 2010 is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the lieu-dit of Petits Charrons in the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Formed in the early 1990s, Domaine Arnaud Ente is a boutique wine estate covering approximately 4 hectares. Their top cuvées are fermented and spend their first year in older oak barrels, then transferred to tanks for circa six months before bottling without fining or filtration. The domaine owns two parcels in Petits Charrons, the first planted in 1954 and the second in 1990. One the 2010 vintage. "Bright pale yellow. Pure, lively lemon and pineapple aromas. At once silky and citrussy, offering lovely finesse and inner-mouth perfume to its flavours of lemon and white flowers. Harmonious acidity gives shape and sappiness to this opulent wine. Very long on the aftertaste. The Petits Charrons and Puligny Referts never give much crop due to millerandage, notes Ente. An uncommonly refined village wine." Vinous, 2012
The 2010 Meursault Les Petits Charrons is all about energy and focus. Today, it is a bit clenched, yet there is an inner sweetness that is quite appealing. It will be interesting to see where this goes over the next few years. Stylistically, the Petits Charrons is more overt and obvious than most of the other wines in the lineup. There is plenty of weight, but a little less finesse than the best wines, although that is admittedly splitting hairs at this level. Ente farms two parcels here; one planted in 1958, the second in 1992. - Antonio Galloni

Arnaud Ente

A leading light in Meursault, Burgundy, Arnaud Ente and his wife, Marie-Odile craft exquisite micro-production Burgundies that easily compete with the finest in the region. The Domaine owns four hectares which are managed with a very small and hands-on team. The key grape varieties here are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, used to produce stand out Meursault, Puligny Montrachet and Bourgogne Pinot Noir that are renowned for their precision and elegance.

The style has tended towards the opulent, with late picking for fuller ripeness being a key part of Arnaud's philosophy in the 1990s. More recently though the wines have presented with greater levels of freshness and minerality as the winemaking practices have changed and evolved.
