Foursquare
Fine Bajan Rum
Based in Barbados, Foursquare is one of the leading premium rum producers in the world and has been owned by the Seale family since its inception in 1995. With five generations of rum-making expertise behind them, the Seale family traces its roots in Barbados back to the 1650s.
In the early 1900s Reginald Leon Seale was instrumental in the growth of rum production on this Caribbean island. His early success enabled the family to expand and they acquired a number of important rum brands (including ESA Fields and Doorly’s) from the 1960s until the 1990s. In 1995 RL Seale’s grandson, Sir David Seale, founded the Foursquare Distillery in the parish of St Philip.
All the traditional rum brands in the Seale family portfolio now feature Foursquare rum as their main component, while under the Foursquare label there exists a range of cask-finished rums (matured in small white oak ex-Bourbon casks) as well as a spiced rum expression. Foursquare rums are always distilled from fermented molasses in small batches, typically around 100 barrels each.
