Pinhook was founded in 2011 by longtime friends Sean Josephs, Charles Fulford, and Jay Peterson, united by a desire to reimagine what bourbon could be. Fuelled by curiosity, they set out to explore the unique character of each barrel they encountered, crafting whiskies that reflect the best of what each vintage had to offer.
Pinhook’s debut bourbon launched to critical acclaim in the autumn of 2014, marking the start of an exciting journey. A pivotal moment came in 2017, when the brand partnered with Castle & Key to begin distilling its own mash bills at the historic Old Taylor Distillery in Kentucky—bringing whiskey production back to the site for the first time in nearly half a century. These whiskies now form the foundation of Pinhook’s core range.
