Chassagne-Montrachet La Chapelle
Côte de Beane, Burgundy, France
The small walled vineyard of Clos de la Chapelle (or simply ‘La Chapelle’) is a Premier Cru monopole owned by the Domaine du Duc de Magenta and, until 2020, farmed and vinified by Louis Latour as part of a long-term agreement. The vineyard is situated to the southwest of the village of Chassagne-Montrachet and produces both full-bodied and long-lived Chardonnay white wines, and finely structured Pinot Noirs with similarly good cellaring potential.
Clos de La Chapelle is in fact a sub-section of the Premier Cru of Abbaye de Morgeot, which is itself a sub-section of the large Morgeot Premier Cru. Morgeot sits between the Premiers Crus of Champgains and En Cailleret to the north and Santenay to the south.
