Beaune Clos des Ursules

Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Located at the southern end of Beaune's strip of Premier Cru vineyards, close to the commune’s boundary with Pommard, the 2.75ha Clos des Ursules is a highly respected Pinot Noir-growing vineyard 100% owned by the Jadot family. Unusually, the vineyard is set entirely within the Premier Cru of Beaune Vignes Franches. It has been a monopole of the Jadot family since 1826.

Owing to the sort of subtle administrative regulations in which Burgundy abounds, the solitary wine that Jadot produces from Clos des Ursules is labelled ‘Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot’ – though the company gives the name of the vineyard greater prominence than the name of the cru.
