Henri Bourgeois

A Loire Valley Legend

Covering 72ha of prime vineyards in the appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, Domaine Henri Bourgeois is one of the foremost wine producers in the Loire Valley. Covering 72ha of prime vineyards in the appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, Domaine Henri Bourgeois is one of the foremost wine producers in the Loire Valley. Based in at the foot of Monts Damnés in the Sauvignon Blanc heartland of Chavignol, the estate has been in the Bourgeois family for 11 generations, though only grew to its current production level in the latter part of the 20th century.

The family’s wine portfolio covers red, white and rosé wines. Although predominantly focused on Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, Henri Bourgeois also produces two Pouilly-Fumé cuvées. From the estate’s entry-level bottlings right up to the single-vineyard Sancerres (of which the Bourgeois family is a pioneer), Henri Bourgeois wines are consistently fine and focused expressions of Sancerre’s enviable mosaic of terroirs – principally Kimmeridgian marl, silex and calcareous clay.
