Château d'Esclans

Superlative Provençal Rosé

When Sacha Lichine took ownership of Château d’Esclans in 2006, his objective was to create the global reference point for Provence rosé. With the help of the late former Mouton-Rothschild winemaker Patrick Léon, this is an objective he demonstrably achieved, not least with the estate’s flagship Whispering Angel.

Château d’Esclans is situated on a high plateau north-east of St Tropez in the heart of Provence. The impressive Tuscany-inspired château was built during the mid-19th century. The principal grape variety grown on the estate is Grenache, much of it more than 50 years of age. In addition there is the white Vermentino and reds Merlot, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Tibouren.
