Remirez de Ganuza Rioja Gran Reserva 2005

The 2005 Gran Reserva from Remírez de Ganuza is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano, sourced from vineyards situated between 500 and 600 meters above sea level across various villages in the Sierra de Cantabria. These vineyards boast old vines with an average age of 60 years, and the grapes are carefully hand-harvested. The wine underwent alcoholic fermentation in both stainless-steel and oak vats. Following this, it was aged in new French oak barrels for an impressive 39 months. The result is a wine that reveals many potent, sweet spices alongside the lushness of ripe fruits, particularly plums. The tannins are sweet, super-melted, and ripe, creating a luxurious texture that fills every corner of your mouth with the presence of mature fruit.
