La Tache DRC Magnum 2011

Based in the village of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – or simply DRC – is undoubtedly the most prestigious wine producer in Burgundy. Since 1942 the estate is co-owned by two families, the de Villaine and the Leroy, with Alexandre Bernier in place as head winemaker following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. DRC has the monopole of two grand cru vineyards, the eponymous Romanée-Conti and La Tâche, which covers 6.06 hectares of old vines. This is the 2011 vintage, available here in a magnum bottle. The wine is in a wonderful place right now, revealing a stunning floral perfume on the nose, and impeccable structure on the palate.
