De Angeles is a small estate in the most westerly and highest altitude part of the ‘Zona Primera’ of Luján de Cuyo in Mendoza. Owner Guillermo Barbier and winemaker Juan Manuel Gonzalez are the team behind tiny-production wines that are renowned for their incredible concentration, purity and elegance.
The 2016 Gran Malbec Viña 1924 is a stunning 100% Malbec produced from incredibly old, ungrafted vines and matured for 14 months in French oak barrels. Intense and rich, with wonderful layers of savoury complexity and floral perfume, this is a serious and deeply enjoyable interpretation of the variety.
