Barbera Vigna Vecchia Scarrone Vietti 2009

This Barbera d`Alba hails from a vineyard situated in the Scarrone region of Castiglione Falletto, where vines have thrived for over 90 years. These old vines inherently yield limited grapes, and this is further enhanced by a rigorous grape selection process. The vinification process commenced with a cold maceration, followed by a 12-day alcoholic fermentation within steel vats, including the use of pneumo-mechanical cap management. Subsequently, the wine underwent an additional 6 days of skin contact before transitioning into barrels for its 6-month malolactic fermentation. Ageing took place over 11 months in a 27-hectolitre oak cask, and the wine was bottled without filtration.
