Established in 2001 and set in the heart of Central Otago, Akitu is a family-owned estate, particularly recognized for its single-vineyard Pinot Noir wines. ‘A1’, made with a majority of Abel clones, is aged in 15% new French oak, resulting in painstakingly crafted wines. The 2019 vintage is fresh and youthful now but has a good ageing potential.
